BRAND NEW label from one third of the Airecords founding team. Steve Hyland aka Normal starts off his label with 'the trainers ep' from 'The Collectors' which is actually Yunx from airecords fame under a new GUISE...those aliases are everywhere.

"Air Max" is up first and grinds us into the dirt with a train track electro crush waveform that doesn’t take any prisoners at all. Continuing with the assault, layers of beat processed warblings float through the glowing sky whilst thin layers of data wobble, gyrate and crisp themselves in preparation for the electronic rumblings that are sure ahead. Quality track with infinite depth and overlapping goodness which can’t help itself but escape.

"Waffle" takes the neon coloured baton and sprints off around the banked corner with a communication smile and arms and legs flopping around like crazy. Clicking beats and the remnants of a rebooted server jack themselves together whilst a spiraling tower of information leans and sways about on its axis on the edge of collapse. Take all of your robot helpers out to this one and dance the night away in the darkest and smokiest corner you can find. Awesome.

"Stan Smith" doesn’t even stop to draw a mechanized breath, and it’s already swarming over you, converting the information it has received into a perfect clone of yourself. The clone clicks and pops into life and drops a thudding heartbeat for everyone to start moving along to. Wavey bubbles of power ups blended perfectly with a tiny robotic laugh fill the room and begin to infect everyone with a hidden but super contagious rhythm. Dirty and old photocopiers spin and shuffle on the spot and fax machines back flip constantly spitting out rainbow coloured slices of acetate every time they land. It’s all good! Its time to machine!

"Shell toe" starts off minimally with a small cube of scuffling beats and then quickly engulfs you in a cloud of energy. Thuds, dirty but clean synths and illegal polygons all join in and cover all surfaces with a transparent layer of Detroit styled house, whilst the old timers calmly nod their heads in appreciation in the corner. Crisp stuff.

'Trainers ep' is a refreshing piece of music. It doesn’t let itself fall into one side or another music wise, and just keeps the quality coming throughout with partly digested energon cubes and 3am scrapings all stitched together with cleverly programmed beats and treats.

I recommend taking a bit of time with a good pair of headphones and letting this one have full access to your core control panel, superb stuff.

Killer debut release on a new label, keep em coming.
