Yes Tesselate is back after a period of quietness with new reviews for your eyes pleasure, and first up we have DODDODO on Adaadat.

Below is some information about the female form behind the name:

In the year 1999, scientists working on artificially intelligent barbie dolls accidentally spilled some rare, toxic chemicals into a pink envelope (codenamed: “doddodo") developed signs of life, and even began to grow limbs and eyes. On learning that the scientists wished to subject doddodo to a horrifying battery of vivisection style experiments. Adaadat artist ove naxx staged a daring break in to the lab and rescued doddodo to the relative safety of Osaka's experimental music scene.

All sounds good to me....music time.

"abcdosaka" bounces and juts into your eardrums with a thud smile beat which is a precursor to a grimy synth dirt laden melody of sorts to show itself, which is then pushed to the side by a squelchy electronic whirlwind, full of faces and peoples credit cards.
Whipping the room into total chaos, this inverted cone of craziness spits out a bag of hypercoloured dots which destroy every ounce of
unimagination in the area and neatly compile it into small perfectly formed envelopes which are balanced on the edge of a nearby table.
Overall: Pretty awesome.

"whithousedisco" unleashes the combined force of toasters, blenders and a rogue bunch of microwaves which are just in it for a laugh. Roars, hip hop beats and gargled vocals are all sliced and diced in a dark deep osaka food emporium, and then when nobody is looking, pushed into the closest valve a toaster would call a mouth....those dirty fuckin bread burners. "Totuken chan" on the other hand hammers at your force field with a bat which looks like it’s made of farm animals and the essence of a fairground. Blend this together with what sounds like an Irish gig and the walls start to melt from the quality which is being laid down here. Weird, cool and intriguing stuff.

"Passanger of the heart" shouts into your face with a light enriched angular face, and then drops a mulchy beat which has everyone nodding in sequence. Sparkling strikes combined with a simple charmed melody, and some warblings from a distant vocalist which sounds like a bit of yodelling compressed through an old school sharpener. Seconds please. "Waltz core" then takes to the stage with a big black hole of a mouth which sucks all the thoughts and earlobes from the room. Once this action has occurred the room is detonated, and the gargling barble frog vocal kicks into effect, accompanied by a crash happy beat and a tuneful melody with marbles for eyes. Playful, forceful and smiling all in one combined mashup of audio, it’s all good.

"King of tomorrow" is the best tune ever committed to media, with a crazy crunch bunch beat smashed over the top with a palette knife, and then stirred to a thin creamy texture with a charming flute which scares off the chaos for just one second. Bringing on the photocopier wrapped tightly in a million plasters just causes the crowd to raise the roof, whilst the carefully planned procedure continues.
We like it.

"Doddodo death" rounds off the cd with a calling from the highest point in the city.....which is then destroyed by a marauding bunch of batteries which through series of special steroids and shiny minerals have caused their size to multiply to insane levels. Buildings tumble and road surfaces cracking and splitting under the immense AA weight, whilst scattering beats and splitting electronics meld together with the sky the sun and the moon in a perfect combination of sequence and randomness.

Sample bitch story could have easily been another smashcore, 8 bit, glitch mash session which would disappear into the air and never be heard again, but its not. It has something, a special underlying slice of cleverness and creation which keeps flicking the imagination switches in your mind.

This one appeals to the robotic riot side in you.
