Following on from the super popular Resident series, (you’ll be hard pushed to find copies of them anywhere) Nautilus takes the cactus baton with a new mini cd entitled " Stonch ". Nautilus has previously released music on Planet Mu, Ninja Tune, Merck and other cool labels, so he should fit in here perfectly.

"Shecompdist" folds itself outwards in a blaze of bassy hiss with a barraging undertone of menace hidden deep underneath, that carries you along this dusty planet like a mini hoverboard glued to the bottom of your shoes. A sparkly melody then appears through the mist of dust kicked up in the wake of this unseen vehicle, and develops into a rip torn static slice of audio which scuttles around leaving traces of intelligence in its path, like slug trails on cold concrete early in the a.m. One big rotational gravity pull on your mind and senses, which leaves you intrigued and your mind fully occupied. Cool stuff...

"Augmented conclusion” screeches itself through a filter of concrete paper with the intention of getting across to the glowing dome on the other side of city as fast as it possibly can. Once it has broken free from its bindings it’s a straight line dash to its target, with plodding scuffs and machine melting highlights, melded together with warping visual packages that are carved into missile shaped items and launched aimlessly into the distance. It's like a big friendly giant with a slight glint in his eye, and the glint is robot jacking chaos........

"Sleeping mass" rounds off this tiny cd, with an eight minute exploration mission to that place where we went before and vowed to never go again. Dark glistening forms scuff against each other, causing large explosions of sub audio to rattle through the sky and intelligent mumblings of machine talk to rattle around your spacesuit like a fly around a bin in the summer heat. More strikes and underground booms rattle the already damaged floor as the crowded corridor you are battling through begins to get brighter and brighter...until..nothing...can..be seen. Watch your back, there is something here.

Nautilis - Stonch is a powerful, technical and engrossing piece of music. Like a lumbering tower packed to the girders with every ounce of technology imaginable and a pocket of a.i which is just waiting for its chance to escape, as it sits, waits, and plans every miniscule detail. Darka nd and clever stuff.
