Debut
release from Andy on Modern Love.
Emerging
out of the same beatmaking hub and studio space that gave
the world Claro Intelecto, andy stott has been writring
tracks for quite a few years now, despite the fact that
he's only just stopped being a teenager. His club tracks
see another re-modification of classic detroit stylings
, setting on a metting between detrouit techno, soulful
house and a hithero underfined varioation of electronic
music.
"8ight"
thuds right up into your face with a jack hammering bassline,
which covers a cracking snap beat twisted together with
a load of lazers by a ribbon of thudding atmosphere. This
one really show what Andy is all about and slams home the
message that his minature army is fully charged and ready
to cause some chaos. Top!. " Talk touch" develops
slowly with a resonating bassline which is trying to tap
into your natural rhythm and shatter you to smithereens.
Slowly and cleverly it releases a cascade of easy but crunchy
midnight callings, this is definetly one for the robotic
ladies out there. If you love jackdancing in the early hours
to a head nodding pattern of a crisp environment, topped
with electronic stylings, fall right in.
"Replace"
pixelates the view from your crisp manufactured vehicle
whilst tracing a map in the air like the tip of a jet plane
ripping through the still air in its path, and then throws
a handful of lost time in your direction. Crisp crunch laden
vessels full to the brim with technique and imagination,
its all good.
Andy
stott has created a killer debut ep on the Modern Love Label.
You can see where the hours rubbing shoulders with the likes
of Claro has played off, with this ep being a character
rich portion of machine led storytelling, with that injection
of genuis that tops it all off. Id keep an eye out for more
of Mr Stott at this rate.
