New
release on Cactus Island recordings, under the 'Resident association'
banner we have Verbose with Resolve which comes as a tiny
7 inch cd. Lovely stuff.
"Vertigo"
gets it all off with a beepy smile, and spits in a whole
load of electronic offcuts for fun. You are instantly taken
into the mainframe backup of a huge aware computer, which
is starting to ask itself, what is it doing in this world.
Metallic scuttles, coated in a thin glass sheen rub and
scratch off the circuit board walls, whilst newly evolved
brain cells, formed from refuse transistors, form themselves
into clumps of processing power, with the sole intent of
causing some destruction. Thought inducing music. "Undercurrent"
takes you once again into the dark broody world, that seems
to live unnoticed beneath the humans everyday emotions.
Steel like slices , flip and sting their way along the glowing
red walkway like a drunk jellyfish on its way to the nearest
drink establishment, as orange cubes of lifeforce, glide
so close to one another, that they jettison cloud like explosions
of static and mumbling bass syrup. coating everything in
the blast radius. Battery juice for your mind.
"Sabotage"
does give off a eye wandering feel to its manner, as darkened
shadows and opaque shapes, take no notice of one another
as they stroll around the pyramid cities. Stare up at the
massive glass structures and this sound will be in the air
above, hanging around like an unwelcome cyborg trying to
get funding for his next around the sun marathon, but their
aint nothing wrong with that. Sci-fi goodness for your ears.
"Asterisk" doesnt even smile at you as it pushes
open the slimy green doors, and lets the stale air rush
over you, yeh thanks mate. This one really does have you
looking over your shoulder, as it creeps along with a carpet
like wave of beeptickles leaving a black tar residue in
its wake. Listen to it.
Cactus
Island Recordings have a gem in their hands with this release.
Verbose creates an entire world, landscape and even universe,
with the intelligent smartness space exploration rammed
onto this tiny cd. One for the starlight travellers out
there.
