Soundtrack for new WARP Films release, a Dead Mans Shoes (directed by Shane Meadows), I have yet to catch the film, so it will be interesting to see how well the music works, I did read that the film is meant to rock so I look forward to it.

This is what you expect a film soundtrack to be not the normal new Jamelia release, but quality music. Tracks from Calexico, who pump out an orchestral atmospheric vibe alongside Laurent Garnier taking it all electro on us, and dragging rogue satellites out of the sky and crashing them into earth. Richard Hawley skims you across the surface of a still harbour within the still of night, with early morning melodies that nobody can argue with, whilst Cul De Sac create visions of warped and twisted societies, with the almost time travelling sounds, wrapped and coated in protective strings to stop the radio static murmurings escape.
Aphex Twins classic "Nannou 2" is almost as minimal and charming as I think he has ever been, super romantic piano melodies tinkle and bubble away as the themetune to awakening nature in the early hours and then DM and Jemini spit out venimous poison to round it all off with a 70's influenced hip hop exploration into all things good. Awesome track.
