Reverbaphon is back with a new new album, on them Benbecula records over there.

"Kartoffein" warps into your mindset with a strummy twang guitar, that not only has itself covered with minimal static scratchings, it also has a tendency to wrap itself around your laptop and squeeze all of the pixels out of the screen with its hashed revolving fingertips, giving off a waffle like air propelled sunshine melody, that softens all hard edges in its vicinity. "Asthetik der funktion" takes the acoustic guitar mumurs and cuts and presses them into a large book, with samples of stylishly warped voices and calming vocals, whilst " The hermit returns" runs the gauntlet in a boot up sequence of a big friendly robot. Clangs emiting from inside the pumped arms of this man made smile machine bounce along with no question to the speed processor world that it is heading towards. A quality track.

"Cut and dry song" is itself a large blade of grass, attempting to soak up the strength from the foggy sky above to hopefully remove itself from its flattened position, Whirls zaps and almost speech like bickerings fight to get attention as the beams of yellow light strike through the clouds above like knifes, but still manages to give off a mellow soundscape that grabs your wrists, and pulls you at slow speed to the secret place we spoke about. Dry sand calls, speak out along the dusty pile of silicon, leaving an evocative trail in its wake. Further into this track, you are invited to melt into the surroundings, as looping static ticks are a timely reminder that you arent in the real world and only a guest. A super rich, terraforming slice of music.

"Our hearts beat with joy (the curved world outside)" is another solid release from Reverbaphon, Not fully to my taste, the vocals put me off a bit, but this was outweighed by the amount of thought and time that has been put into this release. Ive heard the word 'Folktronica' used around for this area of music, but Id have to say its a lot more creative than that. Take a listen.
