The latest ep release (ai10) from AI comes along from Jacen Solo. Also be sure to check out the cover artwork by photographer Dan Holdsworthy, its beautiful stuff.

"Encounter" takes place on the latest space station to orbit Venus, as an echoing megaphone slowly informs the crowd of what is occuring, imagine B12's soundtrack to space, melded with some Elektroids on a new tip. Beeps and calming orchestral rumblings gain control of your mind just as the bassline and drumbeat kick into force. The main body of the track is a slow motion flyby into colour and shapes that change as soon as you make sense of them, and this is all tied together with a harmony that would cover deepest space in pure luxury.Amazing. "808 dreams" takes nostalgia to a new level, because within the first 15 seconds of this track you feel at home, and ready to attack the robots surrounding you. Another journey into a dark electro smooth landscape, where your only guiding force is the small self propelled flying machine circling your head in a haphazard manner. The memory cloud draws in ever closer, full to the brim with forgotten dreams of abandoned technology, intent on taking you as another member of its exclusive club, I would make a swift exit on the nearest windcraft. Safer that way. More influential musics.

The title track "Forbidden medicine" releases an almost nature like melody as its first port of call, full of processes, beginning their daily routine, with the slightest rays of light to power their circuits. Luminessence in audio form with an ambient techno spine running down its vibrant back. Thought inducing stuff. " Movement " takes the final leg and runs off into the distance, dragging time forward with it to a calming 3am. Drive a car through any city in the early hours and this is the musical version of what your eyes would sing if they had a tiny mouth. A calculated patrol into an enemy stronghold with the intention of nonviolence at the forefront, the only mission is to unleash those microscopic peace keepers that told you this was a good idea. Good luck my friends.

Amazing stuff from Jacen Solo with his debut ep for Ai.Yet another set of tracks, that dont have you thinking "this sounds very Ai", welcome to another door in the hi rise apartment block that is quick becoming AI towers. Take a seat on the sofa turn it right up, and kick back with a pint of venusian moonmilk. Another reason to love Ai.
