After being involved in the underground music scene for over 6 years Delta 6 are proud to announce the birth of their new label DELTA 9 Plastics. ' The first release on D9 entitled Plastic Volume 1 – will be a collection of the sharpest underground electro and electronica from musicians within our community and respected artists we’ve worked with over the years – namely Bloq, Debasser, Line, Paul Blackford, Posthuman, Smilex, SP, and Stone 3.' Sounds ok to me...

Smilex start it all off with "Trigger". Bass pounding from the very beginning, you are drawn into a false sense of security, until the sneaky crunch laden barrel rolling sub bassline comes into effect. Almost like an avalanche of sound, storming towards you at a shit crazy speed, playful blips and sly laughs roll down the hillside, singing their tiny songs, whilst the digital party continues all around. Run for your lives people. "Line - aim + fire" is almost like sitting inside a c64 tape deck, with your ears pressed down to the reel, soaking in all of the mental sounds that are being given out. Ticking clock like beats, with a heavy heavy fuzzy continual pressure and Line's lo fi vocals, make it a sinister outing.

Posthuman are up next with "Freakydick" which is the themetune to a synthetic waterfall, that attracts butterflies and thirsty animals to its waters and then re programs them with rogue software. Enchanting melodies bounce and flick around the sky, with an inverteds frog crackling out a distorted vocal. Melodic beauty that converts into a lazer rich bounce fest by the Posthuman duo. Stone 3's "sesh" chills it down a notch, with a smooth acoustic guitar ambient track lined with dark edges, that provoke images of a slow motion battlescene, whilst Bloq's "I want to break with you" has you bouncing between the huge oil swelled bellies of two droids in a bit of a ruckus, about who was next in line for a firmware upgrade, them loons.
Debasser turns it all arcade on us with "If you gonna do one" spitting out his 'bootybass' style to all his coin guzzling friends in this establishment. You can sense all the 'cade monsters whispering to each other in a big thick line of a code, as their anger builds up into a calculated attack on the new bowling alley, which has taken over their patch. Watch your back for them keyrazy gameboxes. Mad track. "Fallout part 2" created by Paul Blackford, takes us back to a darkened room with massive spheres full of electro and dustings of rave style basslines, smashing into each other in a drunken stupour.

Line is back dropping another lo-fi style outing with "Ansidotsys". This is easily what would happen to you, if you were fed into a Gameboy, filtered through 'a boy and his blob' and then spat out the other side into a petri dish. Rich 8bit stylings, with a glitchy soup poured over the top for good measure. Rock it. Stone 3 are back again, but this time with an ambient orchestral outing named "Proze". The chime like melody peeps over the dew laden wall, as a wooden strike like beat, clicks and bounces away, until another jewel like tune, chinks and smiles its way to your brain. Beautiful stuff. SP round off this release with the high speed attack formation that is "Endoflevelboss". If you think manic + acid stylings x rinse, you have this one, its a speak and spell warped output, that rotates any room you listen to this in, and shakes you around like a washing machine full of smiley yellow faces. Rave on.

Plastic Volume 1 is an excellent introduction into the music behind the name Delta 9. Full of differing styles and genres, its a refreshing listen, as you get something new from each track. Here's looking forward to solo releases from the artists on this label sampler, gonna be a good one.

Recommend this one.
