Boltfish is a music label specialising in electronic, cinematic and organic sounds. This includes electro, idm, glitch, and atmospheric.
MINT's Audubon E.P uses twinkling melodies and irregular beats to evoke the open expanses of the american mid-west.

On with z musics....

"Albert the bull" kicks off the ep, and instantly drags you into the dreamtone world where Mint lives. Smooth plinking and plonking synth presses evaporate on sight and float to the high ceiling, while spacecraft missile fire sends out a buzzy message, that takes you back to the days of the original Gameboy. Multiplying layers of childhood memories, weave into each other giving off a rich mist of imagination that is so so good. Cool.

Reverbing orchestra samples flutter around like a drunk butterfly, whilst huge drops of semi iced water create a toys dream in audio form, we are in "Grain Bin" land. Something ticks away in the background, gradually developing into a glitchy beat which gently hammers away on the glass windows seperating you from Saturn's atmosphere. Luckily the friendly robot team are here to assist you in your journey. Another damn fine track.

"Open field" reminds me of misty levels on Goeman 64, man what a game that is, gonna need to dig me out an N64. Beautiful diamond encrusted cubes slide down, plastic chutes, as tiny droids polish and buff away in preperation for that evenings party. Chinks of light creep through the walls and carefully push the workers on via tiny solar panels located on their hands, the fuel enriched team hammer away and tap their feet, which in turn unleashes a mind melting crunch beat, that wraps you up tightly in synthetic skin and doesnt let go.
All the good bits from hundreds of your favorite game melodies all in one, absolutely amazing stuff.

"Auger" takes the soundtrack to a small town, cutting in and layering engines, water towers and invisible transport pods. Sounds push themselves around the blue sky with tiny propulsion engines which emit a tiny bass pop, as other using simple jet technology, slice through the sunshine leaving trails of audio remnants which open their eyes and start to sing. One dice with a million sides, and they are all smiling.
Excellent.

Free music? and its this good, Mints debut release for Boltfish is nothing short of amazing. It really does mellow you out and auto soaks the good shit into your head. The mid west sounds like a cool place to hang out, if this is the music it inspires.

Excellent.
